Watch The Meji Alabi-Directed Video For Eugy's New Single, 'Lolo'

Thanks to solid collaborations with stars like Mr Eazi, Ycee and Nonso Amadia, Eugy has managed to stay on the radar of many Nigerians. Now, the British-Ghanaian star has released his first single of the year, “Lolo” complete with a Meji Alabi-directed video.

“Lolo” has all the trappings of a hit, as the catchy and energetic beat definitely arrests you within seconds. While the subject matter isn’t particularly clear — he jumps from singing about a party scene to opining about the girls he’s in love with — Eugy cleared it up, saying:

“I’ve spent the last year or so travelling the world, performing and exploring,I met so many people and experienced so many vibes, ‘Lolo’ is a result of all the fun I’ve had.”

The moody music video finds Eugy performing the song against dark backgrounds. While it utitlises some afropop video staples — from smoky effects to dim lights — Meji still manages to makes it engaging, reminding us why he’s one of the most sought-after directors in the game.
