Major League Soccer team the Montreal Impact have signed 21-year-old Nigerian forward Orji Okonkwo on loan from Italian side Bologna FC 1909 for the 2019 season, the club has announced.
Okonkwo scored three goals in 27 Serie A appearances (four starts) with Bologna since joining from Nigerian outfit FC Abuja in 2016.
The Forward who spent the second half of last season on loan in Serie B with Brescia, scoring once in 13 matches (four starts) will arrive at the club today (Wednesday).
“I’m satisfied in welcoming another striker to the team,” Impact head coach Remi Garde said in a statement.
“Orji Okwonkwo is a young player scouted by Bologna three years ago who will help reinforce the team offensively.
“He’s a strong and quick forward who has an interesting margin of progression. I would like to welcome him to the team.”
