Five whole months after the release of the solid "Jogodo", and following a recent collaboration with Grammy winner, Ciara on her afropop banger, "Freak Me", Tekno has finally come through with his incessantly teased fourth single, "Choko".
Unlike all the other tracks Tekno has dropped this year, "Choko" thankfully isn’t self-produced. Instead, he teams up with Krizbeatz, the talented producer behind his career-defining hit, "Pana", and it’s a decision that certainly pays off.
Granted, "Choko" doesn’t find Tekno stepping out of his lyrical (or thematic) comfort zone — it’s another track about him finding his one true love — but his infectious flow and Krizbeatz rich production makes the entire song immensely engaging.
With the release of his debut album just around the corner, we’re glad to see that Tekno has finally gotten his groove back. We just hope he keeps this same energy and delivers a body of work that actually justifies how long his fans have had to wait.
