Explosion rocks NNPC’s crude oil trunk line in Delta

The Abura Crude Trunk line operated by the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation at Otu-Jeremi town in Ughelli, Delta State, has experienced an explosion.

According to the SUN Online, residents of Otu-Jeremi town, especially those living very close to the area, ran for safety when the incident happened.

The exploded oil pipeline gushed out volumes of crude oil into the surroundings and beyond, SUN has reported.

The medium reported that the affected trunk accommodated OML (Oil Mining Lease) 34 pipelines jointly operated by the NNPC and ND Western on the one hand; and that of Abura Line belonging to the Nigeria Petroleum Development Company, a subsidiary of NNPC.

Fire-fighters are reported to have arrived the scene.
