Pastor Adewale Giwa, a well-known Nigerian cleric, has expressed concern about certain people using his name to engage in fraudulent activities on social media.
According to the clergyman, who labeled the perpetrators as “scumbags,” the fraudsters created a fake Facebook account in his name in order to defraud the general public.
Giwa announced his decision to leave the popular social networking platform earlier this week after his monthly prayer and bible passage posts were removed by Facebook.
The pastor’s accounts were created shortly after he claimed that he would no longer be using Facebook due to the deletion of his post.
While asking the public to be aware of the fraudsters’ actions, Giwa stated that he has not given anyone permission to use his name on social media.
He also said that efforts had been taken to notify the development so that scammers would not be able to use it to commit illegal and diabolical deeds.
