A senior advocate of Nigeria, Olisa Agbakoba, has condemned the leadership style of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Agbakoba accused the president of sleeping while on duty.

Speaking to journalists in Lagos, the senior lawyer said, the President lacks understanding of how a government should be run.

Describing the president and his entire cabinet as incompetent, Agbakoba said President Buhari is “sleeping on the job“.

“Government’s work is misunderstood even by the president. He doesn’t understand the nature of how to run a government,” Agbakoba said.

Also highlighting various reasons why the present administration is performing poorly, Agbakoba said most of the ministers in President Buhari’s cabinet do not have the required competence to handle the portfolios given to them.

He said Buhari’s minister, though intelligent are mainly round pegs in square holes.

Agbakoba said: “He (Buhari) needs to sack his entire cabinet because they have failed.”

Further speaking on the objectives of the National Movement (NIM), which was floated recently by him (Agbakoba) and others, the lawyer said NIM is not a political party but a pressure group aimed at putting the government of the day on its toes.

He said: “Our objective is to mobilise Nigerians to hold government accountable at all levels. We want to grow by inspiring and supporting people to start small groups across the country,” he said.

“It is going to be membership-based and we are going to have friends of the movement. We are not going to depend on anybody to fund us, we are going to ask Nigerians to fund us; send your N100, send your N200, because it will require a lot of resources. So, in one way, we want Nigerians to claim ownership of the movement. That’s the structure,” Agbakoba added.

NAIJ.com earlier reported that the senior lawyer alongside other prominent Nigerians including former governor of Cross River state, Donald Duke and Pat Utomi formed a new political group.

Agbakoba said the group’s objective is aimed at reshaping Nigeria’s political system.

He also said the group will focus on rescuing the citizenry from the hands of “predators”.
