Governor Fayose caught on video appealing for help from ‘supernatural’ power to pay salaries
– In the video clip, the governor promised not to finish his term still owing the state’s civil servants
– Ekiti civil servants are being owed over 6 months’ salaries as Fayose continually seeks help from the federal government
Ayodele Fayose, the Ekiti state governor has invoked the name of God, to help him offset workers’ salaries.
According to reports, the governor stated that “at an appointed time”, God will provide a means for him to pay workers’ salaries.
Fayose’s comments were recorded in a video clip in which the governor was seen preaching alongside an interpreter.
In the video clip which was tweeted by comedian Wale Gates (@walegates), the Ekiti governor promised that he would not finish his term still owing salaries to civil servants.
He stated: “the Lord will make a way at the appointed time”.
OnlineNigeria gathers that Ekiti state workers are being owed salaries for over 6months.
The governor has been seeking cash backing from the federal government to pay salaries.
Meanwhile, we previously reported that the governor of Ekiti state Ayodele Fayose accused the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Ibrahim Magu of blackmailing state governors.
Fayose while reacting to the harassment of serving governors in Nigeria on Wednesday, July 5, said the EFCC chairman was using the Paris Club Fund as a means to blackmail all his colleagues.
“The EFCC is obviously blackmailing state governors on the Paris Club refunds,” Fayose said.
