LATEST UPDATES ON OUR FARMS – SUNDAY, 1ST OCTOBER 2017

MECHANICAL AND GENERAL OPERATIONS: As planned, the tractor rolled on site and fully commenced work as harrowing, ridging and ploughing proceeded. More extensive land clearing with the bulldozer was also done. The new areas will be used for cassava (extensively), watermelons, okro and yams.

RICE: This is probably going to be the biggest activity for this year. The last quarter of the year will be heavily into rice. We have secured the basin land needed for our members and allocation of land for rice is going on and it is very heartwarming that many members are already signing up for rice. Groupings are going on for NAIRA Members who have shown interest. FOR THOSE WHO ALREADY HAVE THEIR RICE FARMS GROUPED FOR THEM, ALL THEIR HECTARES HAVE BEEN RESERVED ALREADY SO THEY HAVE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT AND FARMING OPERATIONS WILL COMMENCE ON THEIR AREAS FIRST. Farm operations for rice will be proceeding immediately the ground is solid. For those who are yet to reserve their land for rice, please do not wait till the last minute before getting your booking done for rice, rice is probably the fastest product on the market and it is always hot cake. Once again, I advise everyone to have a slice of the rice plantations either as an individual or as a group with other Members. We have submitted request for more rice land to the authorities and they have APPROVED IT. All land for rice will be allocated on a first-come first-serve basis.  WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ALLOCATE RICE LAND TO THOSE WHO APPLY LATE. Do not say I did not scream this o. You can inbox Admin for more details on how rice production is done. We have been in touch with Nasarawa State government and there is considerable progress so far. Once our Nasarawa Coordinator updates us, we will feed the whole house with new information from that zone.

CASSAVA: All is now set for the second wave of cassava planting. All slots are for NAIRA members who have reserved them on request. In the photos you will see the land cleared for cassava being worked on by the tractors. Good news again is that the cassava planted in the first wave has started sprouting very well. You will also see this in the photos.

MAIZE: Our maize plants were the stars of the show yesterday as they came out so well and so strong they were the best independence day celebration gifts for us yesterday. Just check out the photos for yourself and see how fast they have grown. We are projecting ending of this month for harvest of maize.

WATERMELONS: The one hectare requested for watermelon plantation by a single female NAIRA Member has been cleared and the next stage for her will be the planting this week.

YAMS: Work will also commence on yam operations this week. One hectare has been cleared based on request from an interested member.

GENERAL UPDATES: We are pushing very swiftly with our export and import operations. NAIRA Members who are interested in exporting and importing have been advised to send specific details to the Admin.

FOR THOSE WHO ARE YET TO PAY UP THEIR DUES OR PROVIDE THEIR GROUP FARM OPERATION FUNDS, PLEASE DO SO ON TIME BECAUSE THERE IS NO TIME AND WE DO NOT WANT ANYONE TO DELAY US.

Kindly see photos below. Thank you very much as always, we deeply appreciate everyone and all questions are welcome. #UnitedWeStand!
