Arsenal To Announce New Star Player
Arsenal are set to announce the signing of Goalkeeper Bernand Leno on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, according to reports in Germany.
Since joining Bayern Leverkusen in 2011, Leno has made over 304 appearances but the 24-year-old has now agreed to join Arsenal ahead of the 2018-19 season.
Arsenal have wrapped up a deal for Leno with a fee of £22m, with Unai Emery determined to bring in competition for Peter Cech.
According to German Outlet SportBild, Arsenal will Unveil Bernand Leno on Tuesday.
Cech who turned 36 last month, is likely to be demoted as ‘second choice’ and could seek to leave the club in search of playing time.
Also, The Gunners have completed the signing of defender Lichtsteiner from Juventus on a free transfer.
Borrusia Dortmund Defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos is also close to joining the Premier League club after reports claim he has already undergone a medical.
Recently, Sokratis’s father revealed his son turned down the chance to join Manchester United for Arsenal.
‘There was interest from United but for July, he had wait until July for United,’ Charalambos Papastathopoulos told Greek Radio Station 24/7 88.6.
‘United have a good relationship with Dortmund, the teams speak a lot but Sokratis chose to go to Arsenal.’
