Kola Ologbondiyan, PDP Spokesman, has announced the appointment of new national chairman during a national working committee meeting August 26

Former chairman Uche Secondus will now move from suspension to ousting—with no fanfare.

Now acting as the chairman is the southern deputy national chairman who took a faction of the broken PDP following Secondus’ suspension by a Rivers high court on Monday.

Chairman Yemi Akinwonmi has thus hit the ground running.

“We will be holding our caucus and another NWC meeting tomorrow preparatory to holding our National Executive Council meeting at 12 ‘O’clock on Saturday,” Ologbodiyan said.

The PDP governors forum led by Sokoto Gov Aminu Tambuwal are having a council of war now.

It’s still unpredictable what their consensus will be, having taken over the leadership of the party now.

The BoT, led by Walid Jubril, asked the forum to take charge as Rivers Gov Nyesom Wike is rattling the party now.

The Rivers governor had insisted Secondus had to leave for the party to move forward.
