Bishop Obi who spoke to newsmen at the All Saint’s Anglican Church Cathedral, Onitsha, shortly after the ordination of four Archdeacons and six priests, lamented that Nigeria’s major challenge is purely leadership.

According to Obi, “Nigeria ranked highest in corruption which has affected our Gross Domestic Product, GDP negatively and although it is the duty of the church to work hard to reduce the menace, our present day politicians must have a patriotic mind not selfish one”.

The Bishop further thundered: “Something is fundamentally wrong with federal government’s economic policies. Why can’t the government establish skill acquisition centers and engage our youths meaningfully”?

Meantime, the Anglican Bishop on the Niger, Dr. Owen Nwokolo has tasked clergymen to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ in a way to make their followers true disciples who are Christlike in behavior in other to achieve a better and transformed society.

Bishop Nwokolo challenged the body of clergymen to use the various discipleship manuals we have to raise church members into true disciples of Our Lord Jesus Christ, adding that they must consciously and intentionally use the gospel to transform those sitting under our ministration that will go out and affect their society positively.

The Sub-Dean of All Saints cathedral, Onitsha, Ven. Samuel Ezewudo thanked God for using the Lord Bishop Nwokolo to elevate new clerics who had been putting in their best into God’s Service praying for God’s guidance and protection for the newly promoted clergymen.

Ezewudo described one of the elevated clerics, Venerable Elochukwu Ojukwu of Omabga Archdeaconry as vibrant, dedicated Man of god who had brought innovations and progress in all the positions he previously occupied.

In his vote of thanks, Ven. Ojukwu appreciated the members of his former church-Our Saviour Anglican Church Ugwuagba Obosi and members of his present parish-St Marks Anglican church, Omagba for their co-operation saying that without their support he would not be able to serve God in a way to deserve elevation.

Chairman, Collation celebration committee Our Saviour’s Anglican Church Ugwuagba, Sir. Alex Ajofonye, Bro. Promise Ozojiri, Prince Francis Umegbalu described Ven. Ojukwu as a focused and spirit filled Cleric who God has used to achieve seemingly impossible feats saying they were not surprised of his recent elevation.

Also, Anago ThankGod JP and Hon. Eng. Festus Nonyelum of St Marks Omagba said that they have started benefitting from the anointing of God on the life of Ven. Ojukwu adding that from St Mark’s parish he would soon be elevated to higher offices.

Similarly, another elevated priest, Ven. Barr. Emma Ezeugo also plegded to do more in God’s vineyard stressing that God has been his strength while combining his legal profession with God’s work. Barr. Humphrey Udechukwu advised the Ven Ezeugo who he described as child of God and other newly preferred clerics to reciprocate the Bishop’s gesture by affecting more lives positively.
