PENURY, A DOGGING NUISANCE

Penury, a dogging nuisance.
Wish I had money this instant.
O, the things I would buy.
But I have not a single dime.
Penury, what's the time?
How long shall you ruin my life?

Penury, a dogging nuisance.
Made me a Cab driver.
Many were my qualifications.
Yet none paid off.
Many have stayed off
Because luxury is a maybe.
To them I'm the Dead Sea.

In all this, I looked up.
Behold, refuge comes.
Like rain, it dropped.
And those who mocked,
Came to fetch from my purse.
I rejoice!
Luxury is nigh me.

Luxury, a profound influence.
Wealth brings many friends,
But the poor man is deserted by his friend.
I was like dung.
Now I'm hugged.
Wealth has stuck.
Please stay for long.
