In those far off days when a squalling child was I
With the fear of darkness
And the darkness of fear my lips were sealed
But now with the boot in the other foot
And the foot in the other boot
My thoughts do I gather like a gathering storm
My songs do I sing like the dawnsongs of birds
My dreams do I unveil like a bolt of of the blue
My sheated sword do I unleash like sheeted lightning
My sizzling words do I release in adrizzling rain
And my prophecies do I unleash in the whistling winds of proverbs...
The proverb of the thief
The proverb of the owner
The proverb of the rat
The proverb of the cat
The proverb of the bone
The proverb of the dog
The proverb of the chick
The proverb of the hawk
The proverb of the corn
The proverb of the fowl
Proverbs. The whistling winds of proverbs.
The winds. The whisting winds. The whispering winds.
"I am the wind
my presence will you feel
Yet your eyes see me not
Or what king can imprison the turbulent breath of the gods?"
I have not seen one
Abomination!
What cop can cuff the wrists of the wind?
I have not seen one
Abomination!
What dog can bite the rampaging wind in moments of storm?
I have not seen one
Abomination!
I am the zephyr that cools the exhausted mind
Yet the blizzard am I rendering men homeless
The squall too
That will not turn back before a lion
And yet the whirlwind am I
And Yes-I put kings to rout...
Proverbs. The whistling winds of proverbs..
