THEY SENT ME PARKING

a. When I was living with my brother
He said, “You’re not a born-again”
Then I went to live with my sister
She said, “You’re not a child of God”
I went to my aunty to lay complain
She said, “You must be born again”.

b. They sent me packing,
Benighted men sent me packing
Because of my secular music.

c. They were ignorant of my calling
They thought I was a carnal man
Any time it they saw my written song
They tore it like the senseless men
They threw me out of their houses
They said I’m not a child of God.

d. They fought my calling like fiendish foes
They thought I was a carnal man
Any time they saw my written songs
They tore it like the senseless men.

e. They didn’t know RECORDER!!
Is recording my songs in master tape.

***

f. I am purblind
I cannot see clear
Holy man, pray
That I may see clear.

g. I see nothing wrong
Please, pray for me
To see something wrong
Singing secular music.

h. I see nothing wrong
Open my two eyes
To see something wrong
Singing secular music.

i. I see nothing wrong
Come pray for me
To see something wrong
Singing secular music.

j. I have RECORDER!
There is RECORDER!
Recording my songs
In master tape.

k. There is RECORDER!
In my blood stream
Recording my songs
In master tape.

l. It doesn’t pay to tear
My written song
I have RECORDER;
There is RECORDER!
Recording my songs
In master tape.
