Super Falcons, Asec Mimosas U16 To Clash In Friendly

The Super Falcons of Nigeria will play ASEC Mimosas U16 boys in a test game at the Sol Beni Stadium in Abidjan on Friday (today) by 5pm reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

The test game comes up four days after Thomas Dennerby’s ladies had settled in at the renowned Sol Beni, Abidjan (academy of 1998 African champions ASEC Mimosas FC) for an eight –day final camping for the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations in Ghana.

The Super Falcons had lost 3-2 in the first friendly match against Dominion Hotspur at the Atlantic Hall pitch, Epe during their two-week long camping in Lagos.

Dennerby believes the game will help the coaching crew assess his overseas-based players, who missed the team’s first warm-up game a week ago.

“I think it is always good to play friendly because some other players came to camp lately,” Dennerby told reporters in Abidjan.

“Hopefully, the one or two games and some good training sessions in Abidjan will help us in preparing very well.”

The eight-time champions will depart for Ghana on Wednesday, 14th November.

Nigeria’s Super Falcons will take on South Africa on November 18, before matches against Zambia and Equatorial Guinea in Cape Coast.

Hosts Ghana, Algeria, Mali and Cameroon will battle for the two available spots in Group A in Accra.
