Exclusive By Adeboye Amosu:
Nigerian scoring sensation, Adeleke Akinyemi, will put to pen to paper on a three-year contract with Norwegian club, IK Start on Thursday, Completesportsnigeria.com has been exclusively informed.
Adeleke, 19, has caught the attention of top European clubs following his impressive showing for Latvian club, FK Ventspils in the UEFA Europa League this season.
The youngster scored six goals in two Europa League clashes with Albania’s Luftetari and one against Bordeaux in the same competition.
He was recently involved in an ugly transfer battle with Ventspils who claimed he disappeared because of his desire to force a move.
The club claimed at that time that Akinyemi had four more years in his contract, but Akinyemi’s representatives debunked the suggestion and stated that the club was ‘playing dirty.’
But it appears the issue has now been resolved with the player now set to end his stay with the club.
“Akinyemi is already in Norway and everything pertaining to his move to IK Start has been concluded,” a reliable source close to the player informed Completesportsnigeria.com on Wednesday.
“He will sign a three-year contract with IK Start on Thursday and we hope he will have a good stay at the club.
“We have also resolved all the issues with Ventspils and all the parties are happy now.”
