Klopp Expects Salah To Play Vs City; Praises Van Dijk, City Style

Jurgen Klopp has revealed that star forward Mohamed Salah should return from injury to face Manchester City at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday.

Salah, who has scored 23 goals in all competitions for Liverpool so far this season, limped off with a groin injury against Leicester thereby missing the Reds’ league clash against Burnley and Everton in the FA Cup.

Speaking in Friday’s press conference ahead of this weekend’s clash against leaders City, Klopp said: “If nothing happens in the moment, Mo is back [on Sunday]. He is training completely normal and that’s very important for us.

“Hendo ((Jordan Henderson) is back on the pitch and is training, but is not in team training so far. Alberto Moreno was in team training yesterday for the first time. Sunday might be a little early, he needs to do proper training.”

Klopp praised new signing Virgil van Dijk for his impressive debut where he scored the winner against Everton in the FA Cup.

“Virgil was quite impressive against Everton, you have to say that. But the City game is a completely different game. The team’s tactics should be as tuned as possible and I haven’t made a decision so far [on who starts].”

He added:“It’s interesting to play against City. They play really good and if you don’t respect that, you have a problem. But if you are not brave in your game, you will also have a problem. You need to show up.”
