The defection of the former Chairman of Delta State Board of Internal Revenue, DBIR, Mr. Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to All Progressives Congress, APC, has been described as an end to PDP’s reign in Isokoland.
Mr. Tony Ejumejowo on an online platform ‘Umeh Need Road’ while reacting to the defection, said it was only a neophyte that will discountenance Thomas’ contributions to the development and fortune of the Isoko people from 2003 to date.
He explained that Mr Thomas dint of hard work and selfless service in his chosen discipline and as Chairman of DBIR made him the toast of all in Isokoland, adding that his intention to represent Isoko Federal constituency in the House of Representatives come 2019, was already a done deal.
According to him, “Thomas is a potent theoretician for sustainable human empowerment and a disciple of charity to marginal societal groups, a demonstration of which he functions as the President of the Board of Trustees of Joseph Onothome Ofo Educational Foundation, a non-governmental initiative envisioned to award scholarships to brilliant but indigent students.”
“Thomas is also the patron of Ithihikpebe Campaign Organisation, a charitable corporate entity initiating the activism for civil rights, economic and educational empowerment,” he added.
Congratulating the APC in Isoko for the big catch of Thomas, Ejumejowo said that his defection from the PDP to APC will definitely put an end to the monopoly of the Isoko Federal House of Representatives seat by Isoko North Local Government Area of the state.
