A video of the inspector-general of police, Ibrahim Idris, struggling to read has surfaced online.

The incident reportedly occurred on Monday, May 14 when the police chief visited Kano to commission the police technical intelligence unit in the state.

Idris was reportedly caught on video stuttering to pronounce ‘transmission’ and kept repeating it.

He said: “I mean, transmission, I mean effort, that the transmission cooperation to transmission, I mean transmission to have effect, ehm, apprehend, I mean, apprehensive towards the recommendation, recommended formation effective and effect, I mean, apprehensive at the transmission of…and transmission and transmission for the effective in the police command.”

“All effective the transmission, other transmission, I can state without contradiction that I have commissioned what.

“Over transmission of, over transmission of, over all kidnapping, armed robbery and other heinous crimes, I mean, ehm, commission transmission, recommendation transmission.”

The inspector-general of police, Ibrahim responded to allegations by Senate president, Bukola Saraki accusing him of plotting to frame him.

Idris in a statement issued by Jimoh Moshood, police spokesman, said this was far from the truth.

He admitted that some cultists in Kwara state had confessed to killing some persons and that according to police procedure where transferred to Abuja.

He reminded the Senate president that interfering in police investigation remains a crime and said the police will do its work regardless of those who may be involved.
