Idris Elba has been on a serious roll lately. He starred in four movies last year, including the Oscar-nominated Molly's Game and the hit Marvel comedy, Thor Ragnarok; made his directorial debut with the crime drama, Yardie; and helmed a period comedy series, In The Long Run.
Well, it doesn't look like the hardworking star is slowing down anytime soon. Netflix just announced that Elba will be creating and starring in Turn Up Charlie, a brand new original comedy for the streaming giant.

Turn Up Charlie will follow the titular Charlie (played by Elba), a struggling DJ and eternal bachelor, who is given "a final chance at success when he reluctantly becomes a manny to his famous best friend's problem-child daughter".
While the rest of the cast has not been announced, the writers and producers are an exciting mix — with creatives who worked on acclaimed shows like Community, Vicious and more. According to Variety, Netflix has already ordered an eight-episode first season of the half-hour comedy.
Production will begin this May in the U.K, and we already can't wait to binge-watch it.
TV taught me how to feel.
