OPERATIVES of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad attached to the Imo State Police Command have arrested six suspected armed robbers terrorising parts of the state.
The operatives equally recovered guns and a bag that contained India hemp.
The state Commissioner of Police, Dasuki Galadanchi, who disclosed this while briefing journalists on Sunday, explained that the suspects were arrested in the early hours of the same day.
Galadanchi gave the names of the suspects as Onyebuchi Uruaku, 62; Micheal Chigozie, 20; Ifeanyi Uchenna, 21; Ugochukwu Ejiniogu, 28; and Chinonso Obiakor, 32.
The CP listed items recovered as two locally-made pistols, two locally-made revolver pistols with three live unexpended cartridges, one ammunition and a bag of weed suspected to be India hemp.
Galadanchi pointed out that the breakthrough was sequel to the redoubling of efforts in fighting crimes by his command.
The police boss said, “We have redoubled efforts in fighting criminality in Imo State. This is ember and we have closed all the gaps.”
