The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old man, Adewale Olakusi, for allegedly defiling a 13-year-old girl at Ota, in the Ado Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the state.

PUNCH Metro gathered that after the incident, the victim became depressed and refused to eat.

Her father was said to have prodded her and she reportedly confessed that the suspect allegedly defiled her.

The father was said to have reported the incident at the Onipanu Police Division in Ota on Saturday, September 1, 2018. The suspect was subsequently arrested.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said Olakusi lived in the same house with the victim’s parents.

He added that the suspect confessed to the crime, but blamed his action on the devil.

Oyeyemi, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said the victim had been taken to a hospital, where a medical report confirmed that she was defiled.

“The state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered that the suspect be transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Abeokuta, for further investigation,” Oyeyemi added.
