Chrisland varsity pioneer registrar dies

The pioneer Registrar and Secretary to Council, Chrisland University, Abeokuta, Mr Elvis Lawale, is dead.

The university’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Chinedum Babalola, said in a statement on Tuesday that Lawale died on April 26, 2018, at the age of 62 after a brief illness.

In the statement, which she issued on behalf of the chancellor, chairman and members of the Board of Trustees; chairman and members of the Governing Council, the members of staff and students of Chrisland University, Babalola described Lawale as “an astute university administrator, who made indelible marks in all the places he served.”

According to the statement, a wake in honour of the deceased will hold on Thursday, May 10,  at the Ibara Baptist Church, Abeokuta, Ogun State at 5 pm, while interment service will hold the following day, May 11, at 11 am at the same church.

“Mr Lawale was our foundation Registrar, a committed administrator who kept working and walking till he could no longer continue. He was a gentleman par excellence, a good and kind-hearted man. He was a mentor, motivator, confidant, colleague, father and lots more to parents, staff members, friends, students and associates of Chrisland University,” the institution said.
