Akwa United recorded their second win in the Nigeria Professional Football League this season following a 1-0 away win against Yobe Desert Stars in their match day seven encounter on Thursday, reports Completesports.com.

Mfon Udoh scored the winning goal for the Promise Keepers on the half hour mark. It was Udoh ‘ s third goal of the campaign for the club.

The Uyo club failed to record a win in their opening four games of the season before thrashing Go Round at home last Sunday.

Former champions, Enyimba fell to a 2-1 defeat against Wikki Tourists in Jos.

Abdulrahmam Bashir gave Enyimba the lead in the 10th minute but the home team rallied back through a brace by Abba Umar who hit the target in the 28th and 48th minutes respectively.

At the Lafia Township Stadium, Nasarawa United edged out
Plateau United 2-1.

Sanusi Ibrahim opened scoring for the home team in the 7th minute, while Adeshola Johnson doubled the lead for Nasarawa United in the 54th minute.

Emmanuel Odafe got the consolation goal for the home team in third minute of added time.

In Minna, Niger Tornadoes earned their first win of the campaign after a narrow 1-0 win against Sunshine Stars.

Awwal Tanko scored the crucial goal in the 13th minute.
