Strike: Ondo government, civil servants’ meeting end in another deadlock

Olusegun Mimiko

For the third consecutive time, the meeting between Ondo State government and civil servants ended in deadlock.

The meeting, which took place on Tuesday in Akure, the state capital ended without a resolution of the dispute.

The aggrieved workers once again rejected another call by the state government to return to work without payment of their five months salaries, saying they will stay away from work until the government met their demands.

It was gathered that the government, during the meeting, appealed to the unions to return to work, promising to pay salaries as soon as the finances of the state improved, but they rejected the offer.
