From the depth of an abyss
To heights unimagined
From dirts and dunghills
To sitting with princes
From lack and poverty
To much prosperity
From thirst and hunger
To being a giver
From a land of desert deserted
To one of beauty besoughted
From 'rearing' a race
To setting the pace
From an handmaiden barren
To having many children
For all her seeds as scathered
Unto her now are gathered...
Africa will rise and give you glory...O God
And my Nigeria shall be her heartbeats of joy.
