Fading

Fading in the fatigue of slumber

Thinned, groggy, sun-roasted

Dried fingers holding up rubber

Empty, cracked and dirt-crusted

Half closed eyes strain to see

If perhaps he cared to stretch an arm

He whose jeep hummed past like bee

Dirt splash only, just increased his harm.

Fading fast beyond the realm of life

Where man is believed to feel for same

Guts empty, he slumps, he joins his wife

Afore gone in the hit that left him lame.

Foul wind of his decay choke motorists pipe

Hope he wont spit, that did the hit and run.
