It was the curve of her lips
that frightened me
and conjured up memories
of what mama mi(my mother) did to me
in faraway lands.

It was the pursing of my lips
and the sounds I produced
that made you decide
to label me
aburo mi(Young sibling)

It was when the things you said
did not match the things you did
when I found that your heart
was a million light years
away from me
then it dawned on me
I could not trust you

you lied to me many times
it was the way the veins in your necked moved
a slight arching of your shoulders
and your posture that gave you away
in my silence I deceived myself
you did not deceive me

Am I better than you?
Is it my name ?
Is it my clothes?
Is it my homes?
Why ask?
Is it not clear ?

We are equals
You and I are the same
Perhaps you are better
but I can improve
call me what you like
You're human so am I .
