Aliu Babatunde Fafunwa  (1923-)

Educationist and Administrator, Professor Fafunwa specializes in Mother-Tongue Education Curriculum Development and Primary School Science on which he has written many books .At various times, he was English Language and Social Studies Instructor (USA); Dean, Faculty of Education and Deputy vice-chancellor, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.   He was appointed Education Ministry between 1992 and 1993.  He was awarded NNOM in 1989.

Kelsey Atangamuerimo Harrison (1933-)
Obstetrician and gynaecologist, he was professor of obstetrics and gynaecology, first in University of Ibadan in 1972, next in Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 1972-1981, and from then onwards in University of Port Harcourt where he became a vice chancellor in 1989. He won universal acclaim including D.Sc.London in 1988, for his work on severe anaemia in pregnancy and on social obstetrics, and for his powerful advocacy on safe motherhood through poverty eradication and universal formal education in the Third World.
