Mohammet Lawan (1914-86)

An agriculturist, Dr. Lawan graduated from file School of Agriculture, Samara, Zaria in 1939 A provincial Agricultural Officer for Borno in the 1950s, he started three major agricultural
projects that were the precursors of the River Basin Authority. He the cultivation of fruit trees as a way of improving the health condition of the population as well as introducing irrigation schemes in Borno State. He became Permanent  Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources in Borno State in 1971 was appointed chairman of the newly set up Chad development Authority Basin He was awarded the NNOM in 1983.

Pius Nwabufo Charles Okigbo (1924-2000)

Renowned Economist, Author and Administrator, Pius Okigbo is one of Nigeria's greatest economist.  He surveyed the Nigerian National Income for the period, 1958-76 and was economic adviser, Federal Government of Nigeria (1962-67).  He served a Nigeria's Ambassador to European Economic Community (1963-67).  He also served as Chairman, Projections and Policies, UN Center for Economic Planning.  He is the author of many books on Public Finance. and was awarded the NNOM in 1983

Theophilus Sunday Babatunde Aribisala (1916-96)

Agriculturist and teacher, Dr. Aribisala achieved major landmarks in Agricultural development in Nigeria.  He made significant contribution to the development of Cocoa, oil palm and rubber.  He successfully introduced the Bellsville ( a white but smaller breed of turkeys) in Nigeria.  He joined the Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) in 1968 and served as deputy Director and Chief of Operations of Agricultural Projects in developing countries as well as Director and Agricultural Services Division in 1970.   He was awarded the NNOM in 1983.
